#1 most import thing that I will do for you is make sure that you are not advertising your business on your personal page. That is illegal (in Facebook's laws) and will end you up in Facebook jail (they shut down your account for a specified amount of time and don't let you use it at all)!

In order to market a business on Facebook, you have to set up an account. If you are, like me, a sole proprietor, will never have employees and no one else will ever need access to your account, then you can start a business page from your personal account.
​
In all other circumstances, it is not okay to start a business page from your personal account! I cannot stress this fact enough! My reasons for stressing this include:

Do you want the person that is managing your business page to see all your personal comments and have access to your friends?

Do you want the person that is managing your business page to have access to your personal account settings?

Do you want the person that is managing your business page to be able to post to your personal page?
​
The other thing that I have to discourage is for the owner of the business to not have access as a full admin to the page that is used to set up the business Facebook account. What do I mean? Say you have an Office Manager that "handles all that stuff" for you. They are the only one in the office that knows the login and password to that Facebook page or, heaven forbid, they set your business page up with their own personal account. For whatever reason, they leave the company. You lose all access to your business Facebook page! What if they left on bad terms and they have your business on their account! I don't even want to get into the damage that could cause to your online reputation!

OK, enough about that! I will make sure you are set up properly on Facebook.

Instagram's goal is to help companies to reach their audiences through captivating pictures. Instagram can be used to gain the necessary momentum needed to capture the attention of the audience that you're trying to attract with your product or services.

It allows you and your business to connect with your audience on a personal level. They get to share an experience with you in that moment in time. They, in turn, can share pictures of your products or a service that you performed for them and then share those pictures with their followers who may have never even heard of you or your business if they had not seen that picture. PRICELESS!

The hashtag feature will grow your business every time someone new finds you from a hashtag.

YouTube is your go to place for your video content. Back in the day, companies would purchase advertising or commercials on local tv channels to get their message out to the local area. If they were lucky, their message might even make it on a national spot. Today, you post a video on YouTube and you have the potential for that video to be seen by everyone all over the world in a matter of seconds!

Wikipedia defines Pinterest as "a "catalogue of ideas" that inspires users to "go out and do that thing"! That's power in a picture right there! Imagine that just for a moment. A person who has never used your business or bought one of your products sees a picture that so motivates them that they then become a consumer of that service or product!
